The Scottish Play

If you have had any experience with any type of play, especially Shakespearian, you would know you're supposed to say "break a leg" instead of "good luck" and you'll especially know about the curse of the Scottish Play. Don't know what I'm talking about? Not refined? Never been in a theater? Just plain dumb? Well the Scottish Play is....Macbeth. Great, now I've cursed myself.

True, all I have tomorrow is a chemistry test and an English poetry presentation, so no acting involved, but I'ed like to do what I can to keep my luck up.

I guess that means I'll be wearing my lucky underwear.

Truly The Most Exciting News

Lauren Graham and Peter Krause are officially dating! We know her as Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore girls and you might know him as Nate Fisher from the HBO show Six Feet Under. Right now they star each others siblings in the NBC show Parenthood. I'm so excited! I love these two!

My Friend?

The foosball table is the center of the room. A guy with dark hair and a football build is playing by himself.  Chandler walks in from his bedroom and is surprised by the guy.

"Umm. Who are you?" He asks

"Chandler, come on, you know me. Your roommate?" The guy stops playing and turns around to face Chandler.

"Ah, no." As he says this Monica walks in and leans on the counter.

"Who is this? A friend of yours?"

The guy races over to Monica and grabs her hand. "Come on, you know me. Stop fooling around Monica."

Monica pulls her hand away and backs up. "I'm not kidding. Who are you?"

Ross and Phoebe walk into the apartment stomping their boots and shaking off the snow from there jackets. Ross walks up to the guy and holds out his hand. "Hello, I'm Ross this is Pheobe. Were Chandler and Monica's friends. And you are..."

Phoebe snaps her fingers. "Oh! I know, you're the guy who just moved in down stairs!"

Just as the guy starts to object Rachel waltz's into the room. The fake clapping track roars and Rachel gives the non-existant audience a smile. Putting her arm around Ross she turns to him and asks motioning to the guy, "Who is he?"

Chandler walks over to the group. "I just walked in here and he was playing foosball."

"Are you homeless?" Phoebe moves over to the guy and holds his shoulders. Slowly she continues. "It's going to be okay, let me give you some money."

"No! You guys I'm your friend....your friend...."

Suddenly I remember his name, the only character from friends I couldn't remember.

"...your friend Joey!"

The crowd erupts in applause and Joey is enclosed in a giant group hug as his best friends remember who he is.

EJ

My mom has been doing her Little Orphan Annie Drama Camp at the Ronald McDonald house the past three days. The house is for patients who are in the cities for medical treatment and who need a place to stay. So for months their families live in the apartments while the kids get treated. The nice part is that it's all for free and the people in charge hire people like my mom to do things like her drama camp to occupy the kids time.

One kid has stood out to Mom during the camp. His name is EJ and he has some skin condition where the treatment makes him exhausted so he is in a wheel chair, but he is one of the nicest kids. Always saying please and thank you, constantly apologizing for taking too long on the crafts and saying he's making the play look bad. All of these things Mom shoots down right away telling him he doesn't have to apologize and that he isn't making the play look bad. Still, it makes my heart break.

Good part is, his condition is treatable. But I think it would be a good idea to think of him or pray or sacrifice a chicken in his honor.

Procreation!

"You're gonna' make them fight!" Gretchen says from the top of the steps. I turn towards the family room to shied my guilty look.

"..no..." I make a be-line for the door as Gretchen starts yelling at me.

Okay, so this time I did nothing to provoke her. It was all Kayla's idea! We had to think of a cool idea for a racism project and we thought "blue or red, black or white were still all the same" and the have two blue and red betta fish fighting. You know, symbolism.

No need to call PETA though, they didn't fight at all. We (meaning Kayla, Alison and I) named the two fish Theodore (blue) and Cinnamon (red).

This is Theodore. He's blue.

This is Cinnamon. No, he's not a girl.

Mom said she didn't want two betta fish in the house, because that would mean two tanks. So I gave Theodore to Meghan, she was happy. How's he doing Meghan?

My Resloution

New year's resolutions. I usually don't make them, and I really don't know why. Sometimes I do, but really it's like, why? I don't end up doing them anyway or I don't think I need to improve on anything. This year I am making a resolution: be nicer to Meheer.

The plays went really well again, but a tougher crowed. They laughed, but last nights was better. The phone worked tonight, great job kiely! I'm gonna' miss everyone, I hate that it's over.

"I love your blog, it's so cute!" - Mikaela. Gracias, love you darling, you make my day!

Churck starts tomorrow, it's the season premier. Courtney has been watching the second season this past week, it's really good. I can't wait! Tomorrow at 8! Wade agrees, it's amazing, if you haven't seen it you're deprived of life.

They Be Cool

It's like sledding.

You're at the top of the hill and you don't want to slide down the slipperly slop, but you hop in the sled and slip down all the while loving every nerve-wracking minute of it. Then at the bottom you can breath and say, again again.

The play was the bomb, we were the best by far. It's amazing.

Sorry Meheer, I am really mean to you. I think I should work on that because all you said about me was that I was mean to you and you complemented everyone else. Thanks buddy...

Just In A Days Work

It's been go, go, go since 2:15 today. Once that bell rang after 6th hour it was like a marathon.

The director (Alison) said she was going to ask if we could go first for rehearsals because we went really late last night. We all get into the theater and are looking at costumes when we hear that were going to practice last! Apparently there was a list in the dressing room that said the order we would practice in today was the way we would have it during the shows. It also said we had to be done by 5 because at 5:15 there was a meeting in the auditorium.

We think it's all good, you know we'll at least be out by 5. So we hang in the dressing room for a while and chug some energy drinks. Those tasted like medicine. Gross, and then Kayla was eating some of my goldfish and a quesadilla. We then watched Petars play (he's from Surbia) and that was interesting. And he started his sean all over. Then Kayla said she felt sick and I then started feeling sick too.

I calmed myself down by saying it's just because someone else is sick so I'm just making this all up. Kayla, on the other hand, raced to the bathroom. She turned out okay, but the energy drinks weren't a good idea. We then decided to practice in the choir room. There we found Adrain, Kiely, and Meheer super hyper. They had found the energy drinks. That was an energetic practice.

It's like 10 to 5 and we still aren't on. They fourth play is in the beginning stages and our play is 20 minutes long. Harry (the theater manager) says we can go up until 5:15. At 5:03 we race on stage and place all of our props in the correct places. Then it's curtain call.

I go out and almost forget my line, but make a nice save thanks to Adrain's look. Then I get off for a while and call mom to give her another update. As I walk towards Sam and the girl who plays the Techie (I can't remember her name, but she's really cool) they look scared. Then the techie girl says, "They've said that line twice, they don't know where they are."

On stage Kiely and Mikaela are doing their sean. To both got mixed up somehow and were confused at where they were. Kiely picks up a scrip (a prop and it's also part of the play) and tries to ad-lib a few things, but eventually whispers (loudly) to Adrian WHAT'S THE LINE.

RRRIIIING! RING RING! I yell loudly. Sam and Techie girl look at me like I'm crazy. I'm not supposed to do it here. Kayla (jumping at the chance) races across stage and says "Hello Jason, how did the Wikerman account go?" Which cues me to come on stage and say "Sorry my bad."

By then Kiely and Mikaela know where they are and Kiely just goes with it. During the time where I really need to ring the phone. I tell Sam to keep on going after I ring it so it's just like the stage manager screwed up again and that it's part of the play. I do just that and Kayla (being the amazing actress she is) jumps up and pick up the phone. "STOP CALLING US!" She screams, it was perfect.

I also got to play the director. That was fun, the girl wasn't there and I had fun fake crying on stage. Then I up and left, but as I walked out of the dressing room I saw Kayla laying on the floor dead and Meheer run off stage to kill himself. I yell BANG (because I was supposed to) and then leave.

Once in the car I remember I have the last line in the play, but Mom needs to get to dance so it's too late.

I also went to the school board meeting, but i'll save that for later.
