Clothes and Punch

The above picture is of me today, wearing Sonia's scarf that she lent me. Her choice in clothing she bestows upon me is 'what pieces do I not know how to wear' and then she watches how I wear them. Here I have on dark skinny jeans, a white t-shirt pared with a brown jacket. I then went with a gold long necklace so people could see it under the scarf, and long dangly gold earrings which you can't see in the picture. Also not pictured is the boots I wore, the ones I'm always stealing from Gretchen. (and hair is left messy, it would look better with longer hair, kinda' biker chick vibe in a way)
Mom and I had Punch Pizza today for lunch. It's been forever since I've had it! Gretchen doesn't like it so my family never goes there. Gretchen's in Arizona until Thursday, so we took this opportunity to have Punch!
On our way back to the car we stopped in The Red Balloon Bookstore. I just love that little shop, such a cute place to sell books. Note: it's a children's book store, but there is also Young Adult books, just not a wide variety.
A little boy with a red balloon!
Here we saw a druggie, an old man,
and two college students hanging out smoking.
Odd group...

Borders Weeps For Us

Immediately I find one of the four books I am looking for. I pick up How to Read Novels like a Professor (a book recommended by Ms. Swenson) and circle the table looking for it's sister, How to Read Literature like a Professor. I don't see it.

Putting that one aside I look at the yellow post-it note stuck on the first book. The Metamorphosis and Other Stories, it says, Dover publications, and then I have the ISBN number written on it. I'll leave that for later, when I can look up the author. I then reach for the second post-it.

It's not there.

I wrinkle my face, I must have forgotten to take the post it down from my room. I'll just call Courtney.

Two minutes later, I am calling Sonia. Courtney had lost the sheet, and had directed me to Sonia or Meghan. Sonia then told me to call Meghan because she had misplaced her sheet. Then I got Meghan's voicemail.

I didn't leave a message.

Screw it, I thought, I'll just go home and find it myself. Apparently no one is as organized as me.

Have you heard of folders people?

*All in good fun

It's TEA!

This is for Sonia and her obsession with green tea.

This third one was loved by Gretchen and me a few years ago, and reading Sonia's blog reminded me of it.

Take It All Off

No longer is Meghan the only person who I have stolen a piece of clothing from, Sonia is now also on that list. (The list is invisible.)

Yesterday at the end of Spanish I walked over to Meghan and Sonia (Who are partners! Not fair!) and was told by Sonia that she would like to borrow my sweatshirt some time, then somehow we got the idea that we should switch sweatshirts. I was serious, and wanted to do it, but Sonia wasn't so comfortable ripping off a piece of clothing in the middle of the classroom or in the middle of the hallway.

*Picture* [note: don't google image switching shirts, it's just a lot of drunk people]

Fast forward to fourth hour, which is English, and we are given a work day. I proceed to seduce Sonia into taking off her sweatshirt. Finally I take mine off and hand it to her, then she takes her's off and hands it to me. Then we both put the other's sweatshirt on. I'm sure I gave Evan a good show (right Sonia!)

No, we both had long sleeve shirts on (or two in Sonia's case) and it really wasn't all that weird. And now were in the middle of holding each others sweatshirts for ransom. Not quite sure what I want from Sonia yet, i'll keep you posted.

Por Favor?

Hey there Spanish speaking friends! I would be so very glad if you read over my soap opera review and just made sure I'm making sense. Now, I haven't really gone through this in detail, so there might be a few stupid mistakes! Lo siento!
Eva Luna (cap 2)
Personas importantes:
Eva sacará a vengarse.

I hope there is some way I can put a picture of two on my 'blog post'. It kinda' looks like a sorry excuse for a blog.

Secret Santa

So, I got my secret santa present today.
"One can never have enough socks," said Dumbledore. "Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn't get a single pair. People insist on giving me books."

The irony is that I, like Dumbledore, needed socks. In fact I had been talking about it with Mom just an hour before I walked into Spanish class to find a beautifully wrapped present in my seat. I have to say, I was quite surprised to find my present today, I thought I would get it on Wednesday, but this person was on top of things. Hum....makes me wonder.

Unlike Sonia I won't bluntly ask who my secret santa is. I think I have an idea.

*question: are we ever supposed to tell the person we are their 'santa'? Or is it something we bring to the grave?

Out Of Da Loop

Over the weekend I organized my bookmarks and I'm still trying to get used to them. (via web browser) During my cleaning session I decided to delete all of the blog bookmarks because I can just go to blogger and see the 'news' feed because I follow all of you.

I'm still getting used to it and I recently missed an blog explosion of Meghan's. I just have one question. Do I know who Cock is? Because If I don't and if you don't this internet relationship is getting creepy....

Just putting in my two cents.

DotA

This Saturday I might be going to my first ever concert. Yep, I'm 16 and have never been to a concert. Well, a real concert, I don't think Lori Line and her Christmas concerts count. The concert is for Basshunter (swedish singer of DotA and Boten Ann) and is at the Epic Event center downtown Minneapolis. Dad will be going with me (if he gives the okay to go), which won't really rain on my parade because it's Basshunter and that's all I'll be focusing on.
In other news, I need to talk with Sonia. What's up with the Harry Potter thing? I want to go and Mom says it's fine so I need details yo!
I heard Christina will soon be joining our ranks of bloggers. She want's Sonia to help her with starting it, but at this rate it won't be anytime soon. Get your rear in gear Sonia!

Blogging with no structure after the past 100 days of movies is a bit odd. It may take me a bit to get back into the grove, but I'll be back to my old self and posting every day.
Seems like a me and Meghan type of thing <3

"Sonia's" Mix

For my sixteenth birthday Meghan got me an ipod running case and a birthday card from Kathryn Bigelow, (the first women to win best director at the Academy Awards) but unknown to me she also gave me a CD mix. That little ratfink (yes, it's a word just ask Nora) told me it was part of Sonia's gift. I learn about this mix up after I wrote a lovely thank you card to Sonia telling her how I loved the mix so much.

Now that you have the story behind the story you'll understand this a bit better.

Yesterday on a car trip home from Roslyn, South Dakota, we stopped at Chipotle for dinner. As we were eating I realized I was humming along to the music. Now, this would be normal for somebody like Courtney who knows the song after hearing the chorus once, but for me it's quite amazing.

After realizing not even Gretchen (who is very knowledgeable in the area of music) knew what song it was my mind jumped to "Sonia's" Mix. Sure enough when I got back into the car I check it on my laptop and the song matched number six on the playlist. Kids by MGMT.

Personal Favorite

The award Personal Favorite goes to bcuzimbored for her post titled Overkill.

This post was my personal favorite because of the picture, it just makes me laugh each time. But it wouldn't work with out the words she put with it. "another negative aspect of my mom's cooking skills, she's a weensy eensy weensy meenie miney moe lover full of herself."

The words she spews show us how much she really loves food. Both of her parents have distinctly different cooking abilities, her dad thinks he can cook and her mom almost was once on at TV cooking show. Perfect, just perfect.

Congratulation, go ahead and display this lovely award on your blog.

16 Reasons

Inspired by Nora's birthday gift to me, here's a list of 16 reasons why I loved today and my party.

  1. Tessa's foreign exchange student was the first person to wish me happy birthday on Facebook. Nivétha Guna!
  2. Was yelled at by Courtney when I arrived at school. She wanted to wish me a happy birthday.
  3. People in biology were psyched that it was my birthday. For some unknown reason.
  4. My whole Spanish class seemed to know that it was my birthday.
  5. The stuck up Cutaway people in video wished me a wonderful birthday. It's quite an accomplishment for them to look down from their perch atop their self made alters to wish an underling, like me, a happy birthday.
  6. The funny hallway incident that involved Matt and Zach. I just need to tell you in person.
  7. Maher came to the party and proceeded to scar Gretchen. JK, she's all good.
  8. Wendy was able to come and I think got along with everyone. Including me.
  9. Got out of watching the movie because of Tess's dad. Cake time!
  10. Got Schindler's List from Mikaela. You have no idea how happy this made me!
  11. Blew out all the candles, no boyfriends to worry about.
  12. Had fun playing in fire with Sonia and Mikaela.
  13. Had, by far, the best gift turn out ever. I could really tell people wanted to give me something great, and they all succeeded.
  14. Met Nora's kitty after everyone left.
  15. It started to rain.
  16. Mom and Dad are gone tomorrow so that means Cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Ah, what a wonderful life.

Btw: Here is the safety video.
