'points to self' Jet

“Ambassador Winters, allow me to introduce my aunt Abby and her..boyfriend." Townsend tensed. Abby glared. And Rebecca Baxter looked like she was going to choke on her own chewing gum.” - Out of Sight Out of Time (Ally Carter)

I've kinda' been in a rut lately in regard to books and reading them. Maybe AP English has been frying me out. I don't know. I barley got through The Metamorphosis this summer. And that was only a 120(ish) page book.

So I'm happy to have gotten back into the swing of things, and it's all thanks to a Gallagher Girl.

Cousin Chris

My cousin Chris and I have a good relationship. We are about 12 years apart, so our relationship didn't really start until I was at least in the sixth grade because I was too worried about children things and he was too worried about teenage things.

I identify the most with him out of all of my cousins. He and I are both very driven and end up doing homework over the long breaks when the family gets together. The rest of the cousins make fun of us, but hey, they can do their homework super late at the last possible moment. I don't care.

That being said, I haven't seen him in two years. (See he moved to Washington) Sure, there is Facebook, but he's not really one to go on often, nor am I really. There is also Skype, and we've only done that maybe twice.

So, at the beginning of the school year I devised a plan which was dubbed acceptable by Rudy, Chris's younger brother.

While cleaning out his mom's (Nancy's) house I found a good number of postcards from really random places. And this is the least random thing we found in her house. That lady has moved so many times, but this time Mom put her foot down and the two of them (over the course of 3 weekends) cleaned her whole house. That was a project.

It became a thing to call for me when a postcard was discovered and at the end of the house cleaning I had a good pile of odd postcards. While the pile was forming so too was an idea in my head.

I decided to smoke Chris out of his 'hole' in Washington by sending him a postcard each week. I figured this worked with Tekla (to an extent) so why not with Chris.

On Friday I received a package in the mail from Chris. It wasn't a huge surprise because I had talked on the phone with Chris a few times since I had started my project and I had gotten the word from Grandma and Nancy that he loved the postcards, but it was still fun to have solid evidence that Chris has seen the postcards.

In the package was the new Brian Selznick (if this name rings no bells google him!) book titled: Wonderstruck, a puzzle postcard, and a note from Chris.

Plus a poem, which I'll end with.

A Note From a Friend
-H. Hensher
When you are weary and sick
at the close of the day,
And things don't seem
to be going your way
When even your patience
seems near the end
What a wonderful lift
that note from a friend
With a troubled heart
and a heavy load
Perhaps he, too, may have
travled the road,
And you find real comfort
in the end
As you read the lines
in a note from a friend.
What a welcome, the few
words of cheer
Received from this friend
you hold dear
No troubles so great
God and time cannot mend
After you've read this note
from a Friend.

Oy! Teach!

"Class, this is really random."- Mrs. G

I can't get enough of this women! I am so thankful that I was able to have her as a teacher! She's one of the famous teachers (as I like to call them) from Stillwater. You guys know what I'm talking about. The teachers that kids talk about and always have odd stories about them. Every school you go will have the 'famous' teachers and then the rest of them.

On my list there would be:
-Mr.Weever (come on the man has dead animals in his classroom and has a falcon named Pickles)
-Mr.Jones (all of the orquestra kids can't stop talking about him)
-Doc (he looks like Doc from Back to the Future, and he's a doctor in music...pretty cool)
-Mr.Croon (who doesn't know about the teacher with the pierced ear, plus he looks like he came from Woodstock)
-Mr.Schwartz (yea, everyone loves him...a little too much if you ask me)
-Stippel's (There both out there, but the fact that their married adds to their famousness)
-Mrs.Gunvelson (see above)
-Mrs.Stile (she caught a creep, nuff said, plus her students calls her Mama S (apparently))

This is my list, I'm sure ya'll have different ones.

An other point I'd like to bring up is this. When I'm not doing so well in a class I feel so embarrassed around the teacher, especially if I like them. I have no logical explanation as to why I feel this way, but I do. Does anyone else have this problem?

Mrs.G

Seriously, who couldn't love this lady?

Though I did have a dream where she and Milo Ventamila (a.k.a Jess from Gilmore Girls) kidnapped me...

300 reference! vvv

Anyway she was just killing it today during Pre-cal.

"All I do is happy birthday." As the serenades are leaving the room.

In talking about the torn edges on the scraps of paper. "This is gonna' be like roughing it in the Boundary waters."

A Little Birdie

Yes, how elegantly put.

New Page?

So, according to Anna (the one some of you apparently don't really like.) there is a facebook page that is dedicated to Mrs.Stippel's quotes, but I have not been abel to find it so I have elected to start my own.

As you can see on the far right of the pages bar there is one titled Stipplations. Why don't you check it out. I just started, so nothing very big to report on but feel free to help me in anyway you want!

I figured the two of them are much bigger then the quotes page I have, I've been in Mr.Stippel's class for five days and I already have four quotes from him. He's just hilarious. I have Mrs.Stippel's quotes on me somewhere, it's kist finding them.

Other news, I'm freaking out over a certain thing. T-minus an hour (or so).

My TFIOS

This is my opinion on The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.
Now, I, in no way, disagree with Christina. It is an amazingly witty book, filled with humor that only the amazing John Green can come up with. (Though I have to say I laughed more in Paper Towns)

Saying that I want to touch upon something that everyone has been saying.

Crying?

I'm not saying it wasn't sad and in NO way am I making fun of them, but I didn't cry at all. In fact the chapter I loved the most (Chapter 22) was the one that Courtney said she hated the most, or well the one where she was balling her eyes out.

I was seriously laughing and smiling so much in that chapter and (according to Courtney, I was soundly sleeping right next to her) Courtney was just crying up a storm.

I loved the book, just because I didn't cry doesn't mean I didn't think it was a literary genius!

I so love that Jodi Picoult has a quote on the front of the book! So cool!

(note: I made the picture above! super cool right?)

Very Special Indeed

Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo doesn't get scared. I've jumped out of airplanes. Dead dropped onto aircraft carrier, and I've killed people, sweetheart - lots of them. I've gotten the plague. Kissed a transvestite. Been tortured by the best the Middle East has to offer.

Comcast?

Now, what did you first think of when you saw this picture? Tell me you thought the same thing!

Harry sat up and gasped; the glass front of the boa constrictor's tank had vanished. The great snake was uncoiling itself rapidly, slithering out onto the floor. People throughout the reptile exhibit house screamed and started running for the exits.

NY, NY

"She cried loudly enough that the man sitting across from her had offered her a tissue, and she screamed, What do you think your looking at jerk? at him because that was what you did in New York. After that she felt a little better."(451)

So, all thanks to Ragan, I have come across an amazing series, as books go. The Mortal Instruments! It's quite amazing. I highly recommend it to everyone!
Above is a picture of the evil guy from the series. Valentine (yes, ironic) who is using the 'mortal sword' (super powerful, something he shouldn't have) to butter his tost. Only those who have read the boks will fully understand.

"Never believe the bad guy is dead until you see the body," said Simon. "That just leads to unhappiness and surprise ambushes"

Death and Sex

Can I first talk about this issue at hand before I dive into the big void of blogging I need to do? Thanks.

This crazy lady came to my health class today and gave us some life lessons.

1. If you are in a make-out session and don't want to go any further you yell turnups!

2. To kill the mood stare into your partners eyes and say "I wonder if my Grandparents still have sex."

3. If you have sex you will die.

She also told us DETAILED stories about her sex life, and how she shouldn't have done what she has done. And here I was sitting in the health room convinced that I will become a nun because I am freaked out about getting the 40 (+) STD's you can get.

I'm fine now.

I think the lady needs a reality check though.

To True

"I'm more concerned about the fact that he isn't concerned at all that he's a bug." Says Nora this morning before school.
"As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect."

Computer Sci.

I just finished watching it, I have considered becoming something in the computer field, because I find it fascinating and i'll be surrounded by intelligent people. (and you know I don't like dumb people) But i'm on Mark's side, the twins are stupid and I hope that Eduardo and Mark came to terms with each other, because I really liked Eduardo.
He had a crazy girlfriend, I wouldn't have treated him like that. What nerd would cheat on his hot girlfriend?

Undercover Video People

You wouldn't guess by looking at them, but some of the d-bags in the class actually have a little bit of a soul.

Just yesterday I walked into the main room where Jay and Kelsey were sitting. I first noticed Jay wasn't swearing, then he wasn't saying anything politically incorrect (this is the guy who didn't know there was different forms of your) then I looked at the computer screen. Kelsey was asking Jay for swim suit advice! And he was giving her serious advice with no comment towards the girls wearing dental floss on the screen. Then he agreed with her that the more skimpy swim suits didn't look as good. My head was spinning.

The other surprise was last year Zach was obsessed with this girl, but he didn't know how to proceed in asking her out. This lead to many guy to guy talks between him and all of the boys in the class. I learned yesterday he asked her out when Luke said, "Wittl I heard you finally bedded her, you must have used drugs."
Ah, apparently most of them don't have a soul.

You Tell 'e Mage!

I hate when I sit next to Gretchen in the theater. She wants to talk the whole time. Remind me to tell you about the time Mom was yelled at in the theater. (it's a good story)

I Dreamed A Dream

Dad and I bought Inception (via apple tv last night) and that's all i've been able to think about.

Aside from having my two favorite actors (Leonardo Dicaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt) in the movie (as well as Ellen Paige) it's a really well filmed and written movie. It's just amazing. (click on picture below)
Plus, the ending. Wow! Super cool. And if you've seen it you know what i'm talking about. I googled it immediately after the credited started rolling and I like this interpretation of the ending the best. (HERE) You can't argue with logic.
