Clothes and Punch

The above picture is of me today, wearing Sonia's scarf that she lent me. Her choice in clothing she bestows upon me is 'what pieces do I not know how to wear' and then she watches how I wear them. Here I have on dark skinny jeans, a white t-shirt pared with a brown jacket. I then went with a gold long necklace so people could see it under the scarf, and long dangly gold earrings which you can't see in the picture. Also not pictured is the boots I wore, the ones I'm always stealing from Gretchen. (and hair is left messy, it would look better with longer hair, kinda' biker chick vibe in a way)
Mom and I had Punch Pizza today for lunch. It's been forever since I've had it! Gretchen doesn't like it so my family never goes there. Gretchen's in Arizona until Thursday, so we took this opportunity to have Punch!
On our way back to the car we stopped in The Red Balloon Bookstore. I just love that little shop, such a cute place to sell books. Note: it's a children's book store, but there is also Young Adult books, just not a wide variety.
A little boy with a red balloon!
Here we saw a druggie, an old man,
and two college students hanging out smoking.
Odd group...

So, St.Olaf

I, not being Christina, am now just blogging about my visit to St.Olaf. I saw her and it was awesome! I also saw Kim (mother) and Austin Sovell.

I guess I don't have to feel to bad because Christina is writing a hood-like essay for school. The only work she's done in a week for school, according to her. Personally I think she needs to just turn it in and deal with it.

So, St.Olaf, why I crawled out of my hole to blog about. I need some inspiration for blogging, any tips?

BAD Liz, yet again off topic! Okay, so the school was gorgeous! It also had the best free food, there were buffet tables all over the place, you literally walked into a room and there was a buffet table. No other school has done that. Though they did brag about their nationally ranked number one food. All according to Newsweek.
What I really enjoyed was that the dean of the school talked at the beginning of the whole thing. It was nice to be welcomed like that, gave you the feeling of beine wanted as a person and not as another paying student.
Ah, yes! A picture of the library. My favorite thing to see at colleges. Not the best (U of M is number one so far) but I can see myself doing homework in there. Plus the tall windows give off the feeling of  being in one of those older libraries.
Me having issues with my iphone camera
What I wasn't a huge fan of was how far away everything was from each other. Reminded me of camp a bit where we walked all the time. It's not a bad thing, getting exercise, but in the winter running across campus (and in the windy rural area) will not be fun.

Another plus, all four years you live on campus. I really like that, a sense of community and such, cookies for St.Olaf.
I saw this door and just had to share it with ya'll
Edward and Bell, but with (I'm assuming) student faces with lab glasses on, go Bio!
And again, but now Jacob has joined the mix. I think the girl looks like a mouse, right?
Importance of wearing glasses, chemistry! (blerg!)
Reminds me of the houses in Count of Monte Christo
By far the best part was the gift shop where I got socks that say 'uff da' (so Norwegian) and there were Norwegian like things all over the place! Oh, how I love Norway! Plus, Harry Potter in NORWEGIAN! My favorite! I have the first one in English and Norwegian, but seeing the others in Norwegian totally made the trip. (I'm so studying it what ever collage I choose to go to)

A Night To Remember

My night started at three, when mom told me that I was to start getting ready. I was sitting in our living room in my pj's and my Northern Arizona University sweatshirt on, sporting crumbs and remnants of the cupcakes I had gotten at Ragan's the night before. Cupcakes are great for breakfast.

So, at 4:10 we were picked up for dinner by Grandma and Grandpa. I had fought with Gretchen half shaved my legs and taken so long to find an outfit that I didn't want to go.

Yet, there I was sitting in the back of Grandma and Grandpa's car last night typing away on my new iphone this post channeling my inner teenage angst.

It's TEA!

This is for Sonia and her obsession with green tea.

This third one was loved by Gretchen and me a few years ago, and reading Sonia's blog reminded me of it.

Knuckle Sandwich

Yesterday Mom, Gretchen and I went out to eat at Punch! a pizza restaurant on Grand Ave. which is to die for. It's super thin pizza cooked in 800 degree wood oven. Everything originated from Naples, Italy and uses the best produce for the pizza. The techniques haven't changed for centuries.
I love it, we don't go as often as I wish, but it's kinda' nice to have a fun and different place to go unlike Woodbury's wide variety. What's sad is Gretchen doesn't like it at all. She claims she can't taste anything, which it weird considering it's a taste i've never encountered in any other pizza place.
Mom says every seven years your taste buds change, I guess that's why Gretchen has been so picky about her food lately.

Din' Din'

Tonight I cooked Dinner. We had broccoli, apples, and parmesan chicken. I had to fry the chicken, I was the bomb at it. Dad helped a little because I was washing my hands too much going in between the chicken and vegetables. I also got to chop with the big knife. I think I'll like making myself food when I leave the house.

On my ninth birthday I had a cooking birthday party. I invited people over and we made pizza. Everyone had a little piece of dough and got to create their own. I had a lot of fun, it was cool pretending to be a chef for a few minutes. I think being one would be awesome.
One of my day dreams is to move to France and buy a giant farm which grows fresh produce and grapes, with the bright, fresh, green grass as far as the eye can see. Then I'll become thirty pounds overweight and wear cooking clothes every where I go. In town I'll own a restaurant and I'll be on the food channel cooking in my own kitchen like the Barefoot Contessa.
But this is all a daydream, I couldn't become a chef. I decided a long time ago I wouldn't work in the food industry.

Nothing To Fear

In FDR's first inaugural address he said something that would be said many more times in thousands of speeches. The only thing we have to fear is fear its self. If more people would take this sentence literally insurance and security companies would be out of business. But, on a more serious note, kids wouldn't be scared to talk in class, children could sleep well at night, and mothers wouldn't buy excessive amounts of padding for when their kids rollerblade. People would be a little more loose.

The number one question:

What is Liz afraid of?

1. The dark
2. Murders
3. Hobos who live on her roof
4. Failing
5. Ear hair
6. Guys with socks on
7. Friends/family dying
8. Creepers in the airport/mall/theater
9. WW III
10. Shopping
11. Lizard people who live under the earth
12. The movie psycho
13. The quote "a boys best friend is his mother."
14. Death by electrocution/starvation/drowning (or buried alive)
15. Invisible man killing me in my sleep
16. Swimming pools
17. Fairs
18. Amusement parks
19. Lack of maps
20. Food courts

So, what 20 things are you scared of?

Iron Chef

You are my wife.
Good bye, city life.
Green Acres we are there.

Grilled cheese, just the thoughts brings me to a warm and comfortable memory of sitting in Grandma's kitchen eating grilled cheese with potato chips. According to the German exchange students we eat chips with everything, so it's fitting.

Dad inherited his mother's cooking ability, and same with mom. True, mom couldn't figure out the grill for the longest time, and dad didn't know where to find the strainers, but I think they're neck and neck with cooking.

Mom cooks more often then dad, mostly because I think she enjoys it more and if it were up to dad he would either a) give us McDonalds to eat or b) forget. Dad is harder on himself then mom is, so if something doesn't go the way he wants it to then he tends to give up. But if he struggles through it, he can be real wonder at the stove.

Still, his grilled cheese isn't as good.

Aim, Shoot, Score!

My goal in life is to order in spanish at Chipotle. I told Dad this when we got in the car after getting lunch. He thinks I should do it next time we get Chipotle. I'm kinda' scared, I don't want to offend them or anything. I guess I'm gonna' have to practice.

Good part: I could understand what they were saying.

Oh Me Oh My!

"So, you know how great my hair looked in Arizona." Gretchen says as she leans up against my door frame. I look up from my recent Wikipedia search and nod yes.

"Well, I think I was putting face wash in my hair instead of hair gel."

Tonight we went to go see the Mississippi because, as you might know, it's rising. Dad wanted to take some pictures and we figured we could tag along and get some Punch pizza out of the deal. I was so hungary, I would have eaten a whole pizza by myself. The Peterson's (some family friends) were there and I talked with the older sister who is very cool about her music conservatory she goes to for collage.

Tomorrow I have to film a short film for video. It's 10:50 and I still haven started the story board, great.

Yuck...

The past 24 hours I've eaten: (Thursday night to Friday night)

-walking taco
-peanut butter crackers
-apples
-stickers
-girl scout cookies
-more girl scout cookies
-more stickers
-whip cream with a spoon
-maggie moo's chocolate ice cream (with m&m's)
-nasty chicken cordon blue stuff Mom and Gretchen love
-green beans

I then proceded to feel gross, and after I reviewed what I had eaten I felt even worse.
