Cross Out Liz/Babies

I'm running on 5 1/2 hours of sleep and Mom just told me my breath really smells. She won't talk to me until I brush my teeth. I feel loved.

Last night after I had edited my newest movie project (which I will put up on youtube) I settled into my bed and tried to fall asleep.

The key word here is tried.

A bit before midnight I heard this scratching on my closed bedroom door. I finally got up to stop to noise, after debating about it for a awhile in bed. Opening up the door I looked down and saw the end of Hank's tail as he scampered between my legs and under my bed.

Having no patience I opened up my parent's bedroom door and told Dad that he had to rangle up Hank from the depths of my room.

Five minutes later my door was being scratched at again. I jumped up and whipped open the door. Looking down at Hank I screamed my battle call.

"I'M NEVER HAVING CHILDREN! IF I CAN'T DEAL WITH A CAT I SURE CAN'T DEAL WITH A BABY!"

Hank raced into Mom and Dad's room and I proceeded to follow him.

The door banged on the wall as I pushed it out of my way. Following Hank in the dark I got down on my hands and knees and tried to pull him out from under the dresser.

"Liz! Stop it, just go back to bed.", Dad said several times.

Grudgingly I walked back into my bedroom and slithered under the covers.

A Locker Romance

Last semester there was this couple that had a locker across from mine. He was extremely tall and always wore this John Deer baseball cap. She had platinum blond hair and was short and skinny, another words, the regular chick. Every time I stopped by my locker during the day I would see them. Through the fall and early winter I would catch snippets of their day to day conversations about school and well, life.

Then when the schedules changed my locker stopping switched up and I never saw them again.

Today I was walking down the hallway when in front of me I noticed a very tall guy walking hand in hand with a short brown haired girl. I sped ahead and glanced back to see if perhaps the girl had colored her hair.

She hadn't.

To Early

From my set on the bus I look over Hannah's shoulder to get a better view of the world outside. The grass is still brown, contrasting the big yellow school bus. Never did the thought of summer occurred to me as Hannah and I talk about our school days while shielding the sun from our eyes.

That was, until I picked up the mail.

I just love the dELiA's catalogue.

Fair

I don't think I've ever read a book that's made me laugh so much. I've read books by Janette Rallison before and I thought they were okay, but My Fair Godmother takes the cake.

Today I finished up on my homework, watched a weird countdown thing for something stupid on the TV, and then I surfed the internet. Yep, then I decided to use my brain and I picked up the book Courtney had lent me two weeks ago. I had started it and was, oh, about 100 pages in and was starting to wonder what would happen to Savannah.

The rest of my day I spent reading the book with my feet in a laundry basket.

Don't give me that look, it just happened to be there......

Tiny Dancer

So, I got this e-mail from Dad today. It was a link to an Avatar II preview. You need to watch it, and I think Meghan will especially like it.

Link (enjoy!)

Aim, Shoot, Score!

My goal in life is to order in spanish at Chipotle. I told Dad this when we got in the car after getting lunch. He thinks I should do it next time we get Chipotle. I'm kinda' scared, I don't want to offend them or anything. I guess I'm gonna' have to practice.

Good part: I could understand what they were saying.

Oh Me Oh My!

"So, you know how great my hair looked in Arizona." Gretchen says as she leans up against my door frame. I look up from my recent Wikipedia search and nod yes.

"Well, I think I was putting face wash in my hair instead of hair gel."

Tonight we went to go see the Mississippi because, as you might know, it's rising. Dad wanted to take some pictures and we figured we could tag along and get some Punch pizza out of the deal. I was so hungary, I would have eaten a whole pizza by myself. The Peterson's (some family friends) were there and I talked with the older sister who is very cool about her music conservatory she goes to for collage.

Tomorrow I have to film a short film for video. It's 10:50 and I still haven started the story board, great.

You Who?

"I want to see some of your movies you've made in your video class.", Meghan says to me for who knows what reason. I don't believe we were talking about it. I guess we were talking about UCLA and how we both want to go there, but still a bit off topic.

No matter how off topic it was I have spent the last hour putting together my own youtube account which you can find right here --> Link

Now I'm kinda' obsessed.

Ah HA!

Just proof (click to see bigger picture), I'm totally right.

And if you don't believe me, here's the link. Just scroll down to crossovers.

What the French Toast!

Today I forgot my water bottle in the refrigerator. I had put it in the fridge before we left for our trip on Thursday and was waiting for Monday to drink the nice cold water. Cold water is my favorite thing in the world, well aside from milk. So, after a week of being in the fridge it would be perfect.

This morning I was surfing the internet and getting dressed while keeping an eye on my clock. All of a sudden Mom yells up the stairs and says that it's 6:59. My bus comes at 7:02, but I have a bit of a walk to get to the bus stop. So, I race out the door and half way down the block I realize that I forgot my water bottle. Then I proceeded to have an off day, but I figured it would be all better when I arrived home and drank some of my water.

The first thing I did upon entering my house was make a b-line for the fridge only to find out that Mom dumped the water (the cold perfect water) and recycled the bottle.

Wolf Pack

Alan Garner :You probably get this a lot. This isn't the real Caesar's Palace is it?

If I think about drugs in church, will I go to hell?

My family watched The Hangover last night. So this morning during church I was thinking about some of the funny and highly inappropriate parts. During the lords prayer.

So, as the rest of the congregation thought about what Jesus gave us, and sacrificed for us, I was thinking about how they made some of those 'revealing' pictures during the credits. And for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about they were pictures depicting a lady giving one the of the actors....you know what, I can't even finish.

I feel dirty.

Alan Garner: Gambling? Who said anything about gambling? It's not gambling when you know you're gonna win. Counting cards is a foolproof system.
Stu Price: It's also illegal.
Alan Garner: It's not illegal. It's frowned upon, like masturbating on an airplane.
Phil Wenneck: I'm pretty sure that's illegal too.
Alan Garner: Yeah, maybe after 9/11, where everybody got so sensitive. Thanks a lot, bin Laden.

Junior

We arrived home on Thursday night to this.

Annie! When I got here Friday he was um....kinda still. Saturday he was gone! I feel SO BAD! I sent him "on his way" and hope this one lives longer. Forgive me. (I didn't do it)
Love. Shelly

p.s. the rocks smell bad still. I tried rinsing them again today-

The good thing that came out of all of this is that Shelly (my dance teacher and Mom's best friend) got herself a betta fish too!

Sadly my frist thought wasn't about Cinnamon, it was 'I hope theodore is all right! If he dies Meghan is gonna' somehow blame me!'

Cheat Sheet

Sparknotes:
This Trip & How To Deal: Eat

Co
ntent:
Liz started her blog on the first of January 2010, and has since then updated (semi-faithfully) her blog every day. Sometimes she will share deep thoughts or personal feelings that she has or just funny things that had happened to her that day. During the post Eat (posted March 18th, 201o) she wrote about her feelings she had about her trip.

Plot Overview:
Liz's whole post is about Arizona (a topic she has been writing about for the past week) and how it feels to her. Her father (being an amateur photographer) had been obsessed with his camera the past week and was constantly taking pictures which interests Liz. She also thinks she came upon something to fix one of her friends problems.

Major Characters:
  • Liz is a 15-year-old girl who took a trip with her family to Arizona She blogs about everyone and everything. She can recite the states in alphabetical order in 18 seconds.
  • Liz's father is a shy man living in a house with three women, he needed a hobby to keep him from going crazy so he took up photography. Liz and him share an unusually close bond for a father teenage-daughter relationship. He can do a very nice scottish jig.
  • Courtney is never far from Liz's thoughts. Courtney's life is the complete opposite of Liz's. Liz tries to understand her friend, but can't. So to make it up she is always on the look out for solutions to Courtney's problems. Courtney's favorite word is 'goodness'.
  • Meghan is not mentioned in Liz's post Eat, but is always commenting on her blog, (which Liz is very grateful for) but sadly Meghan can't understand anything without the help of sparknotes. Meghan owns one of Liz's favorite movies, Jennifer's Body.
Themes, Motifs, and Symbols:
  • Religion - When Liz says "being a human I tend to only trust the things I can see" she is referring to many human beings who don't believe in what they can't see. Many scientists don't believe in God/Jesus, and Liz is agreeing with them because she can't quite believe she lives in Minnesota after all of the time she spent in Arizona.
  • Photography - Time exposures show the paths of moving objects in one photo. Liz shows a deep liking towards them possibly because she enjoys spending time with her Dad. She seems to think about then a lot because of her 'life exposure' idea.
  • Photo of a Church - The photo in the post Eat is an example of a time exposure there to give us the idea of one. The photo could have deeper meanings, but we can't be certain.
Summary & Analysis:
  • The post's title is Eat, what for we aren't told and there is no reference towards any food in the post.
  • In the first paragraph, Liz begins talking about how the trip to Arizona with her family seems like a completely different world compared to her real life in Minnesota. The more time she spends in sunny Arizona the harder it is for her to remember cold, dreary Minnesota. She refers to 'being human' and how many humans can't believe in things they don't see. The people who don't accept things tend to be more aggressive and slow to trust. Liz states that because she is one of them, it puts her at a disadvantage because she just can't believe.
  • In the second paragraph Liz tells us a little bit about her father and his favorite pass time, photography. She explains to us about time exposures and tells us about her 'life exposure' idea. Liz wonders what her's (or anyone else's) would look like.
  • The third paragraph can't really be called a paragraph, it's one line. It's a message for Courtney, one of her best friends. Liz has apparently come upon something that would help Courtney, but the message is quite vague, which might tell us that she doesn't want to tell Courtney the idea just yet, or that it's a bit too personal to publish on the internet.

Eat

This whole vacation seems like a dream. I can barely remember going to school and walking between classes, it seems like a dim daydream and that my true life lies here, in Arizona. I know that's not true, but being a human I tend to only trust the things I can see and/or feel. This puts me at a real disadvantage.

Dad has been taking time exposures, my favorite form of photography. The picture is layers, upon, layers of pictures that come together to form one picture. I wonder what my life, or anyones life in that matter, would look like in a time exposure.

Courtney, I think I figured out something beneficial for you.

Doggie Props

"If I would ever meet Jack Johnson I would seriously kiss him, like big sweaty, tung, long kiss.", says my cousins boyfriend. No wonder they named their dog Jack.

Most of the time (down in Arizona) is spent caring for this animal. Tell ya the truth, I'm not a big dog person....well animal person. Though I am kinda' growing on little Jack. Only confusing part is my cousins boyfriend's name is Jake, and his dogs name is Jack....such an easy slip.

Best part about animals, the stories. (hands down)

A week ago, Jake and Deni (my cousin, she goes to ASU in Flasgtaff, they live together in an apartment) had woke up to Jack whining. Jack (who was in his kennel in their bedroom because there is no other space) was freaking out and whining. They thought he just wanted to get out and decided to be tuff parents, so they (tried) wait him out.

Two hours later they were at their wits end. They both had a test the next morning and Jack would not let up. So, Jake got up and opened the kennel. Jack race up onto the bed, jumped around for a second and then raced into the corner of the room.

SPLWASHOSH! (a.k.a the sound of diarrhea)

You need to remember the whole time it's dark in the bedroom.

Jake had to squeeze through the door (because the incident happened right in that corner, by the door) so he could get something to clean it up. Poor Deni was stuck in the smelly bedroom with the crazy puppy that was freaking out because he didn't know what had just happened to him. Apparently she was trying not to puke.

Their apartment smelled for the next few days, that poor dog held it for two hours, I've got to give him props.

Kid in a Toy Store

Don't you just hate when you get your hopes up and then your let down. Nic loved Dances With Wolves until he visited the set and saw how unreal it was. This might sound bad, but sometimes it's good for a person to have low expectations. Then they don't get let down.

We went to the zoo. Rudy absolutely loved it.

Sit Down!

I dreams last night I was on a boat to heaven. Oh wait, wrong era....

I did have a dream last night. Meghan was in it and I was sitting in a Perkins when I saw her sitting with two guys. I asked her why she wasn't in Japan and she said she decided not to go. I was so sad and kept on saying that she would of had so much fun. It made me really depressed.

Then Meghan, Courtney, and I were walking to the bus stop (through 2 feet of snow) and we saw the bus leave without us. I said Mom could drive us, but Tessa (who appeared) said that she wasn't answering the phone. I took off down the street and burst in the house. Mom was curled up in multiple down comforters on the couch. She didn't want to drive us.

Then I woke up.

Say Cheese!

Today we went to the Grand Canyon.

Personally I think it's not really that 'grand' I mean it's cool, but it's just a big hole in the ground. Great spot for Christmas card picture taking and for well....here's what happened.

There was this huge group of Asian high schoolers who (I'm guessing) were on a school trip to the United States. They were all over the lookout point and when I went to blow my nose in the bathroom there was a group of girls in there. Then there were a group of boys pointing at me, but I just told myself I was being paranoid.

Then they were taking pictures of Gretchen's hair (well I thought they were talking pictures of G, that turned out different) and tried to start a conversation with me (in English), but I thought they were talking to each other.

I came upon them again by myself and they (they being the group of boys) were huddled whispering together. I turned around to look at the canyon as their teacher tried to round them up. All of a sudden one of the guys came up to me and said, (in perfect English) Can you take a picture with me?

Suddenly there were tons of Asians taking my picture with him and there girls were all awwing and thanking me. Then they were gone.

I wish I would of thought to take one with my camera.

Around The Riverbend!

So, t-minus 4 hours until lift off.

This is what I'm going to.

Well minus Chris and add a few years to everyone, but you get the gist.

Mark my words, tomorrow at this time Gretchen will have changed into a Deni worshiper. She absolutely loves Deni and then Deni's boyfriend is gonna' be there (you know them salt and pepper always together) and thus my bittersweet attitude. I get to go to a nice warm place, but I lose my sister. Hum...What would you do? Would you sacrifice your sister for warm weather, or would you stay?

Lotion

"I'm ready." I say as I walk down the hallway. Bliss raises her eyebrow while trying to follow my logic.

"Ready for what?" She asks.

"I'm ready for life." I spread my arms out wide taking up half the hallway. Bliss jumps at this new revelation as we both go our separate ways.

Barely a second later I here Bliss say, "Nate! I'm ready for life!"

Sometimes I can be a real turtle. I like staying home on a Friday night just reading a book or doing homework. Breaks are usually a time for me to spend with my family and I don't even think about my friends,

but

I think this break is going to be different. I'm really gonna' miss everyone.

Angry Men

I think I have angered some people today and I want to channel the things I learned at VCCS to write an apology.

Dear Courtney,

I am truly sorry that I left the rotunda early. It wasn't on purpose, I was just being odd, it wasn't like you smelled or anything. Also, when we were taking the 180 question test about our future jobs I thought of you when I read the question: Studying marine life. (like unsure dislike) You're going places!

Dear Meghan,

I tend to bug people I love. Just ask Gretchen, I really love her, but I am sorry that I was making fun of you at the lunch table. What would I do without you? And if your artcrush thinks your weird I'll take care of her. (screw her music!)

Dear ...practically everyone,

I am sorry I tried to start a betta fish fighting ring. We had a bowl ready to grab one when they started fighting. At least now Theodore has a good home. (link, very funny)

Dear Mikaela,

Did I do something? Apparently I can't see your blog anymore....oh! I also heard your name on the announcements this morning....

I think this should be y'alls theme song. (link)

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again.
When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums,
there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes.

HI! LARIOUS!

You have to watch, it's just.....just! Oh, just watch it.

oh, and the poll results are in. --->

Procreation!

"You're gonna' make them fight!" Gretchen says from the top of the steps. I turn towards the family room to shied my guilty look.

"..no..." I make a be-line for the door as Gretchen starts yelling at me.

Okay, so this time I did nothing to provoke her. It was all Kayla's idea! We had to think of a cool idea for a racism project and we thought "blue or red, black or white were still all the same" and the have two blue and red betta fish fighting. You know, symbolism.

No need to call PETA though, they didn't fight at all. We (meaning Kayla, Alison and I) named the two fish Theodore (blue) and Cinnamon (red).

This is Theodore. He's blue.

This is Cinnamon. No, he's not a girl.

Mom said she didn't want two betta fish in the house, because that would mean two tanks. So I gave Theodore to Meghan, she was happy. How's he doing Meghan?

Doctor Who

Meghan, you cry during whale videos and I cry during my first ever episode of Doctor Who.

Which is here ---> Video

He's an alien and she fell in love with him. Then they decided to save the world instead of staying together. Oh, makes me tear up....

Yuck...

The past 24 hours I've eaten: (Thursday night to Friday night)

-walking taco
-peanut butter crackers
-apples
-stickers
-girl scout cookies
-more girl scout cookies
-more stickers
-whip cream with a spoon
-maggie moo's chocolate ice cream (with m&m's)
-nasty chicken cordon blue stuff Mom and Gretchen love
-green beans

I then proceded to feel gross, and after I reviewed what I had eaten I felt even worse.

Dear Group

Dear Group,

Thank you so much for helping me while I ran around the school looking for a stupid pigs tail for our presentation.

Thanks for using the time I was out of the classroom to take pictures with my laptop.

Yep, you're real winners.....

Tuck...Everlasting!

"How about Tuck?", Courtney looks at me determinedly. Sure, Tuck and (now thanks to Hannah) Emmy. Tuck and Emmy, what cute kids!

So, for those of you who aren't in my lunch, this is how it all started. I announced that I was going to name my kid Luy (LuLu for a girl, or a second boys name) because it doesn't have any broken letters in it. For example B is a broken letter because it has two holes in it and D is also an example. i is another type of broken letter. It doesn't have any holes, but it looks like somebody broke a lowercase L in half.

In the end the only vowel I can use in my kids name is U, because all of the others are broken. Then with consonants that makes it....15 and one vowel. And well, Y I consider it not a vowel, so I counted that already. There are also letters with unbroken uppercase letters. Like I and E. I can use thoes

Okay, now I'm doing the probability math in my head, and if their are no repeats, there would be 16! = 20,922,789,888,000 (plus the I and E)

That's a lot of possibilities. So, anyone have any ideas?

No Trespassing

"Man, there's been a lot of death recently.", Courtney stated, in her blunt way, this morning on the bus.

It's true, think of all the earthquakes (which Courtney also brought up) and some of my closest friends have family members dropping like flies. Yet (as Tessa cried) all I could do was freak about my sweatshirt....Meghan I think we need to check before we wear it to school just so this never happens...ever again.

Happier news: I trespassed today during sixth hour. When I told Mrs. Drew that Amanda and I probably did something illegal she just laughed and welcomed me to Cutaway Productions. oh joy.

p.s. Mikaela, LOOOOOOVE the pictures!

Necklace

"Do you wear that everyday?", Meghan asks me at lunch. I look down to see what her finger is pointing at and am pleasantly surprised to see she's pointing at my necklace.

"Yea. I got it from my aunt and this -I point at the pearl attached by a blue string- I got from Nora as a christmas present because I'm a pearl of great worth."

The silver necklace is 12 inches long (I know this because Gretchen broke it one time and the jeweler told us it was 12 inches.) and has a little charm at the end that's round with the word believe written on it. The other side of the charm has dream, but I alway wear the believe side out because I not only dream, but I believe.

Then the makeshift charm is from Nora. She gave me a little pearl on a blue string for christmas because I'm a pearl of great worth, so I cut the string short and tied it onto my necklace. It's one of my prized possessions.

Other thoughts: How will Meghan deal with no Bolgger over Spring Break? Don't tell me vote on the poll (you can chose more than one) to your right. --->
